श्री विष्णु-गजेंद्र मोक्ष स्तोत्रम का वर्णन हिन्दू धर्म के प्रमुख ग्रंथ ''श्रीमद्भगवदगीता'' के तीसरे अध्याय में है। श्रीशुक उवाच -एवं व्यवसितो बुद्ध्या समाधाय मनो ह्रदि। जजाप परमं जाप्यं प्राक्जन्मन्यनुशिक्षितम् ॥१॥ गजेन्द्र उवाच- ॐ नमो भगवते तस्मै यत एतच्चिदात्मकम्। पुरुषायादिबीजाय परेशायाभीधीमहि॥२॥
